Re: Computer Games
Yeh not sure its all about the maximalist/completionists - the comfort food endgame people arent aiming for that, but they are looking todo another round of gameplay loop, so it does give them a token reward. For the older games with this endgame feature, you had to invent your own reward like doing...

Re: Computer Games
some games do slip into comfort food status, the kind of thing you can fire up for 20 minutes and play for a bit long after its "finished"
sounds like that game is aimed at that outcome.

it was very regimented and graded for me - certain amount of scales, techniques and standard tunes which must be played and sight read for every level, and then when you hit the right level you can get an offer to leave the school band and instead join the school orchestra, oohh allal. handel and ha...

Re: Musicology | Love 'em, Hate 'em
yeh, tabs for me is a song I already love listening too, and I want a second opinion on fingerings or chords to what Ive managed to work out by playing along. a great tool for speeding up that process - so the rythmic information isnt essential, I know that internally already. their is no doubt that...

Re: Musicology | Love 'em, Hate 'em
funnily enough, I do look down on the tab equivilants for piano.
and I also play piano by only caring about getting the phrarsing and rythym right, then dragging the midi notes up and down in the editor.
so my opinions on this are chaotic, hypocritial and borderline absurd.

Re: Musicology | Love 'em, Hate 'em
I thought that in addition to the Tantacrul videos posted sometime last year, someone posted his video about the false assumptions made about musical notation and the problems with alternative systems (often the same chromatic sort of thing suggested again and again for 1000+ years). I finally all ...
