Re: What do you have in your hologram?

This is a fascinating result. Perhaps Maldacena is worthy of a Nobel Prize. Not yet. Physics is an experimental science. An interesting idea that first has to be put into a form that is falsifiable and then tested. This may have occurred in 2008 . AdS/CFT was used to calculate the viscosity of a qu...

That's what I did. It was fun. It would have been torture if I didn't know that Albert and Bernard were telling the truth That is the rub It does not say that all statements are true. We don't know what either Albert and Bernard were told. I think it is probably whoever wrote the article but standa...

That's what I did. It was fun. It would have been torture if I didn't know that Albert and Bernard were telling the truth and if I didn't know that there was a way to deterministically determine the correct answer, rather than just a lucky guess. Interesting question: if we didn't have Albert's last...

IMSMO, as both a fourth or fifth generation CA farmer, and a professor at an elitist CA university, Victor Davis Hanson's has some very interesting perspectives on CA water management. He has been writing about the upcoming problems (now current) for years. http://victorhanson.com/wordpress/?p=8327...

I can see Rand Paul being the GOP nominee. He should do well in Iowa and great in New Hampshire. If he wins both, he might even be competitive in South Carolina. If he wins all three, he'd be hard to stop.

What I don't get is why even get involved in a war between Zaidis and Sunnis. Al Qaeda occupies a significant area of Yemen. Deal with that. Some local tribes are fighting against Al Qaeda. We could assist with Special Forces, Airstrikes and perhaps Marines near the coast. They could be based out of...
