Relief appears to be months, if not years, away.
From where I sit it looks like Armageddon is coming. Not only are semiconductors getting short for automotive and Med equipment but for semiconductor fabrication machines The lead time for parts for the latter have increased to over a Year because of semi shortages for those parts and it is getting worse.
Semiconductor shortages are just one domino among a sea of dominoes. China threatens to invade Taiwan which has 80 some percent of the world's high end semiconductor fabs. Russia is being goaded into invading Ukraine which for some reason the world's durian elite classes feel is a mound that lessor men should die over.
the US has a large store of conventional military weapons the CCP and Putin have Chemical Biologic and tactical Nuclear weapons. Without semiconductors modern conventional weapons can;t be built Or as Donald Rumsfeld once said 'you go to war with the military you have". Which is a recipe for a short devastating war. It is said " WWVI will be fought with sticks and stones" I wonder if any military in the world has ever gamed out a WWVI scenario?
