Day 2. The foot goes further inside the mouth.

Viorica Dancila: "The purpose of the Social Democratic Party is to win the presidential, local and parliamentary elections of last year."

Quite.

We don't use Boomer over here. Some members of the commentariat, along with clueless social media people who take their culture from the internet with no filter or thinking, tend to use US generation labels, despite the fact that they don't match the local situation. Our Boomers are "decreței", which would translate as "Decree People" (decreers?), meaning those born after the Communist Party banned abortion in 1968 and the country experienced a fertility boom.

Nowadays, the Decree People are sort of vilified by the younger generations for their passivity, obedience and defeatist attitude. Instead of Boomer jokes, we get anger from those who think the pace of change is too slow.

That mob is Gen-X in the western world, which also suffers for defeatist attitudes but in a slightly more cynical and disobediant way.

Growing up watching the cold war hysteria will leave you somewhat jaded to the world of politics.

Only two days after my post, two PSD organizations took to Facebook to complain that the country is run by foreigners. One of them suggested that the intelligence service should have done something about it.

Which splains why the Gen-Xers fall for every dollop of doomer porn tripe that gets posted on the internet. We were inoculated as yutes. If the Ruskies weren't going to obliterate us before we ever got laid, chances are Dad or an older brother was going make life painful anyway.

Bringing Russia into the equation could help explain the life expectancy map, seems the closer you are, the more the stress of existential dread tries to kill you early.

That would explain the shorter life spans in some big American cities.

Would you have time to set up a web site for me?

I'm thinking....
"The When I Was Your Age Center for Healing Homeopathic Therapies"
or
"The Quit Yer Whining or I'll Give Ya Something to Whine About Rehabilitation Resort"
would be some good branding.

If this gets as big as I expect, we're gonna have to take it online to satisfy demand....and we're gonna need some hardware to connect the user's nipple electodes to their USB ports.

How much did wages go up? And when did Romania join the EU?

The 2007 enlargement of the European Union saw Bulgaria and Romania join the European Union (EU) on 1 January 2007. Together with the 2004 enlargement of the European Union, it is considered part of the fifth wave of enlargement of the European Union.[1]

Not proper wogs nor proper krauts and yet not slavs - even worse, full of gypsies.

shakes head.

Recently a Romanian bouncer became a celebrity cricketer for being quite hopelessly cute at it and tried to cash in on his minor fame in Australia.

luckily my government spotted the potential dangers and border patrol kept him out before he stole any precious rubles.

I heard it was a misunderstanding.

The visa form asked him if he had ever been convicted of a felony, and he wrote in, “I thought that requirement had been lifted”.

Place has gone downhill fast since they dropped that requirement.

The old rules kept it to Middle England, Scots and Irish, all of who are criminals at birth to the gentrified ones.

Obviously a massively short sighted mistake to let even a single Romanian into your country..... but as long as the Ministry of Home Affairs doesn't allow any female Romanians into the country, they won't be able to breed.

Word to the wise: Remember the previous f**k up with the rabbits!

You gotta respect anyone who is honest about practicing their trade. They are people you can work with.

As a friend in college told me, his father once advised him "Some people whol f**k ya will tell you they are gonna f**k ya. Other people will just f**k ya!"
