Are these cherry trees only flowering trees or they produce also cherry ?
If they also bear real cherry, is cherry abundant in Japan ? and not so expensive (like all fruits) ?
Also interested to know when first Cherry tree was introduced in Japan ?

Well, you can buy cherries at a store. Not sure how the price compares to other nations in terms of PPP.

Athiests follow Christmas and Easter as much as many christians, the feeling guilty about not going to the church is removed - the rest is all the same - a few days of drinking and feasting with friends and family and a break from work.
it is just winter and spring festival times - goes back far longer than any of the religions, every human owns those dates.
except us southern hemisphere folks - it becomes summer and autumn festivals and all the metaphors and imagery are a bit screwed up.

im not a christian, so im not fussed if you think im not following christian thoughts, which you apparently understand better than christians do.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C4%92ostre
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yule
these cultural holidays go back forever, they are tied to the seasons, the celebration of being alive with friends/family and with work thats about to begin, or work that has just finished.
the old pagan meanings never went away, they just got extra Christian meanings on top, which Christians are pefectly capable of expressing if they wish
the rest of us take a break from work, and relax, as we have always done.
