Wild raspberry bushes have taken over from where I cut down the trees a few months prior.

that would be a bad outcome in my area, those turn into bramble weeds and the original trees and undergrowth dont make it back.

we would tend to poison them out.

good deal. Those attract Bigfoots and other forms of wild life. the other day my 3 dogs went over to the edge of the fence and were all looking in the same area. six feet on the other side of the fence was an intruder. obviously the intruder didn't give off much scent. after the dogs were inside, I went back and talked to the little bugger. pretty young, had a bit of trouble maneuvering thru the vines and debris.

Mom picked out a good spot, an area about 50' x 400' and fairly thick under growth. could have been another 10 or more deer hiding in there.

Very cute; maybe the dogs just didn't see it as being much of a challenge.

We've been watching the local deer lately, one very recently gave birth to one of the smallest fawns I've ever seen.

The real unusual sighting has been a pair of migrating young bucks. It's not often we see any of the males and sharing the same territory is rare. I know it's because they've not matured yet but it also means there may be a battle coming up.

I suspect the dogs could see it, but the scent was almost nonexistent or benign. I suspect with many young creatures, the scent does not scream prey until after maturity (or after they stop nursing?). I was quite surprised they weren't in the "Let's kill it and eat it mode!"

A pack of three calmly a few feet away from a very tasty, easy to catch and kill dinner..... I think Mama Nature has a procedure.

Could be the young bucks were both gay and woke! Or, one or both self-identified as does. After all, it's in CT, right? Only way to know for sure would be to ask them who they voted for in 2020.

It's an interesting hypothesis. I would be shocked too with such easy prey.

How wimpy are these dogs? Maybe it needed the alpha to lead the charge?

One female is a American Staffordshire Terrier, Golden Retriever, Rottweiler, Boxer mix. The other female is a Rottweiler, Australian Cattle Dog mix. The male is a German Shepherd, Rottweiler, American Staffordshire Terrier, Labrador mix. Like all dogs, they are natural born predators. Since they are a very close pack, they would be even less civilized than in a one-on-one situation. It is the same with dogs as with humans. Higher group numbers, means all the group members resort more to primal instinct and think less.

The two adult females could have easily jumped the 4 foot fence from a standstill. The 7 month old male isn't up to it yet. it might have a been a combination of shock at such helpless prey being so close, some sort of protective or non-prey scent, the existence of the fence, and the good sense of the fawn to lay still. The dogs were curious as hell, but not in predator mode. Very interesting to observe. It took my wife and I a good 15-20 seconds of looking to even see the fawn.

A couple years back the two females and a neighbor's male dog (Mountain Cur, hunting machine) cornered a wounded doe in a four foot deep section of our creek. The doe was swimming in circles for deer (dear?) life and all three were swimming in for the kill. I finally got them separated and tried to lift the doe out of the creek while being mindful of the damage she could do with her hooves. She didn't fight, and I got her to a place where I think she could have climbed out on her own. I'm amazed she did not have a heart attack then and there. She did not survive and a few days later the buzzards were feasting.

If you send me your cell number via PM, I'll send you some video.

If the dogs would have caught her on dry land it would have been a quick, noisy, and merciless kill. I didn't really feel like observing that at the time.

My wife saw three young bucks hanging out in the neighbors yard last night. Maybe climate change is leading to gay wokeness in an effort to save the planet from over population.

I'm no doctor, but maybe doc should switch hands and vary stroke length...... uh, I think I read that on the internet somewhere...

doc, Can these symptoms occur at any time? Or only when you are watching porn on the internet?

I heard from a friend that there used to be a site on the internet that addressed these medical conditions. try typing "Dr. Rosie Palmer and her five sisters" into a search engine......
Went to the doctor Tuesday and was told that the three "mini-strokes" were due to a blood clot else where, that had broken up and traveled to my brain. The CVS J&J vaccine web page warned about serious side effects like gut pain and calling doctor on the third page after all the videos and pictures stating how safe the vaccine is.

Seems I should have read the fine print. Of course they say if you masturbate too much you''ll go blind. So it is understandable that the fine print is getting hard to read.

Physical Therapy has a wait list so I guess I will have to stick with the massage parlors for now.....

Did your doc put you on meds?

When the clotting in cv was first noticed there was an announcement to NOT use standard blood thinning protocols. Wondering if the same is true for the clotshot.

Of general interest, the d-dimers test shows clotting in asymptomatic people. There is also another cheap & easy blood test for myocarditis.

 Good to know your sense of humor survived intact!

The Biden administration has handled this horribly from the start. First telling the most gullible of Americans they should not trust the vaccine developed by the racist orange man. Then after the election insisting that the virus is perfectly safe while shutting down any parties who want to participate in routine patient-doctor discussions about risks and rewards of taking any medication. Both actions created a lot more fear than necessary and destroyed any educational value of discussion. Now, the vaccines are perfectly safe and anyone who thinks otherwise is "ignorant and anti-science."

Right only on the last point, those who were ignorant and anti-science enough to listen to Joe and Company, are now the most vaccine hesitant of all.

Take heart! The Dark Web has all the PT videos someone with your condition could ever need!!! ;)

The bright side was when I stayed in the hospital over night, I had plenty of nurses to flirt with. I was having fun until one particularly flirty 20 something nurse seriously asked me if I had any sons. :(

Good questions and points. I have been on blood thinner for several years due to Frostbitten feet from when I was in my early 30s. Plavix and also lisinopril to open up the veins in my feet. My impression is that is the LIsinopril that is a problem. I noticed after the stroke that the gut pain was worst after taking it. But when I did not take it the pain went away. Mind you it was not a lot of pain. I just felt like a had an oversized ball in the left said of my gut.

Not exactly. I don't think much of those new fangled plastic bed pans. They aren't cold like the old stainless ones. I think it had something to do with the EKG she was taking. Maybe my heart was beating to fast or something from all of the flirting..

One other thing, though I have no idea if it is related. LIsinopril is an ACE2 blocker. That is how it thins blood.

Not quite sure if we're getting hit by the hurricane or in the tropical storm zone, but it looks like we'll be battered by something.

We're as prepared as we're gonna be. I'm not sure how ready the electric lines and the trees are. I've a bad feeling about a week long power outage, even if we go mostly unscathed.

It rained heavily for two days straight but we made it. Thankfully for us, the storm went far enough east and its eye collapsed before reaching land. So it ended up being almost nothing but rain for us.

good you missed any magor damage.

we have had 1 month of non stop rain, first time for 50 years or therabouts - flooding, much storm damage and now some trepidation over the extra weed growth for the coming summer.
