SM,

I don't know how you put up with that bunch of petite bourgeoisie. :?

Alex.
alex,

They are everywhere. Including in your reply to my previous post. ;)

It's great fun to listen to a non-American repeatedly tout the superiority of the culture back home, and then say "That may be true, but you have lived here for 10, 15, 20, 30 years now. So are you full of shite, or are you a masochist?" Then we all start laughing.

Superior for thee, cause it makes a better world, inferior for me, cause it's more fun!

As someone famous once said "The reason I get along well with animals, is I don't expect a cat to bark like a dog, or a dog to meow like a cat."

Pretty sure he/she was talking about people, not animals.

Get you get my R1 crated and shipped yet? :)

Zack's input filter is angstrom fine, his output filter is parsec gross. Either that or a simple lack of reading comprehension. :)

I recall an interview with Tucker Carlson in which he said he wrote a column about Trump that criticized his hair.

The next day, Carlson had a message on his answering machine. It was Trump.

"It's true that you have better hair than I do, but I get more pussy than you!...... click"

How could you not want a guy like that for POTUS!

Mr Trump has called climate change "a hoax" devised by the Chinese government.

Ymix,

In a planning application for sea defences at Trump's Irish golf course, his organisation cites 'rising sea levels' and 'global warming' as the reason for the works.

yawn.

not believing in man made global warming and it being fixed by MOAR TAXES is hardly the same thing as not believing in global warming and/or climate change.

SM,

It has been interesting to see the Trumpsters coming out on this forum and the other place. I made my bets backaways and have been right to the man.

Alex,

congrats. There's confirmation bias, then there is self-confirmation. I like the later better. It validates my sense that my perceptions of reality are better than reality itself. Only a self aware individual can self-confirm. Selfless people need not apply. ;)

Just curious. Since the vote for POTUS has not yet occurred, how are you separating the Trumpsters from the Non-Trumpsters (Numpsters?)? :?

I see Ymix is putting us on double secret probation and Alex is winning arguments in his head.

But others are the ridiculous ones. ;)

The liberatarians, as currently constructed, are just a pot&immigration uber alles party full of tree house builders. As for Mr.Johnson, he's another with a potted understanding looking for access to the hothouse flowers.

hah. probably true, i was under the vague impression he did have state power once and did a decent job of it.

the basic stance of "do what you will but dont expect me to pay for it" that the economic conservative libertarians have is the closest to my worldview.

makes me a 10%er, if only i could piss off that pesky 90% :P

Its easy. So far, two of us (counting both forums) have declared their Trump love in posts, and two have said a clear 'No' in posts. My comment is merely that the results are as expected.

Alex.

PS, Oh, and there is one person who is a little harder to read, and I expected that as well. ;)

PPS, I like your phenomenology. Maybe 'perceptions of reality' just are reality for the subject.

A simple re-calibration will change those perceptions...... ;)

Isn't that where all of us win arguments? Except the losers?

Given that the pretext of "global warming" is the one most likely to sway the scientifically challenged bureaucrats,
it may be a cynical but clever move to get his way.

Folks,

Donald Trump is proposing the printing of ‘helicopter money’ to pay off US national debt. This is an interesting idea and has a history, in Venezuela, Zimbabwe and the Weimar Republic to name a few.

What could possibly go wrong?

SM,

I would agree it is likely that someone who is deceiving themselves, really is doing it.
