Yes. All meetings, interviews etc. between politicians and all members of the public (especially lobbyists and journalists/reporters) should be done in a controlled environment observed by humans and recorded by multiple video and audio devices.

Kinda like biologists watching rats interact and mate. Once you become a pol, you enter a hermetically sealed environment. With just little holes in the barrier to allow feeding, watering, and waste removal.

Having a chaperone is not enough. The chaperone should also videotape the interview.

Sounds like a burka. Probably not a bad idea to make Pols wear burkas. You just put money in the hole at one end and whatever law you want passed comes out the hole at the other end smelling all the "sweeter". :D

I was thinking more that the room where people who are suspected of crimes are interrogated. Everything that happens in that room is public knowledge and preserved for historical record.

to my sense of things thats a bit paranoid, however, in this day of click bait, irresponsible journalism, I think its madness not to have several recordings of any interview so that a better edit may be provided in case of fake news type coverage.

Somehow I find the idea of potentially having videos of politicians screwing people available to watch, and preserved for the historical record, appealing. It reminds me of the old porn movies that were made for "educational purposes".

I have a political fantasy that somewhere, somehow, a person with integrity gets elected to congress, wears a wire 24x7 and tapes every phone call, serves maybe two terms, and then writes a book, publicly posting all the source documents, tapes etc to back it up, and blows the status quo to kingdom come.

Sadly, a fantasy.

We could always go for direct democracy I suppose. Especially at the local level.
